Day 14
Today's Scripture:
Exodus 35:5
Key Verses:
Exodus 35:5
"Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass,"
2 Corinthians 9:7
"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver."
Psalm 110:3
"Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth."
Romans 12:1
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."
The Point:
A thriving heart is one that freely and joyfully offers itself to God. Willingness is the key to true service and generous giving, reflecting gratitude and surrender. God delights in offerings made not out of duty but out of love for Him. When we give with reluctance, it reveals that our focus is still on ourselves our comfort, our control, our resources. But when we give willingly, it shows that our hearts are aligned with God's purposes and our trust is anchored in Him. Willingness transforms ordinary acts into holy offerings. A smile given in service, time spent helping a neighbor, or money shared for God's work becomes sacred when it flows from a heart that says, "Lord, all I have is Yours." True willingness is not measured by the size of the gift but by the sincerity of the heart behind it. God can multiply even the smallest act of willing service into eternal impact.
Illustration:
During World War II, countless communities across North America held metal drives to support the war effort. Families willingly donated pots, pans, tools, and even heirlooms made of brass, copper, or steel. Children collected scrap metal and rubber tires from their neighborhoods, not because they were forced, but because they wanted to contribute. Each small, willing gift became part of a much larger mission that shaped history. In the same way, when we willingly offer our time, talents, and resources to God, no matter how small, they become part of something far greater, His eternal work.
