What is Awana?
Awana is a Bible-centered children’s ministry that helps kids learn Scripture, build strong faith, and grow in their relationship with Jesus through fun games, handbook activities, and small group teaching.

To equip children and youth with the gospel and engage them in lifelong discipleship.
Our Awana Clubs
Each club is designed for a specific age group with Bible teaching, Scripture memory, games, and age-appropriate discipleship.
Puggles
Age: 2 & 3Through simple Bible lessons, songs, activities, and playtime, Puggles helps young children begin learning basic truths about God’s love.
Cubbies
Age: 3 & 4, Pre-K & 5 yrsCubbies learn simple Bible verses together as a group while enjoying snacks, games, and engaging Bible-themed stories in a fun and caring environment.
Sparks
Kindergarten thru 3rdSparks begins with handbook time where children memorize Bible verses and learn about missionaries. Kids also enjoy high-energy games and counsel time.
Truth & Training
Grades 3rd thru 6thT&T helps children grow through Scripture memorization, missions-focused activities, and biblical teaching. Each club night includes games, handbook time, and counsel time.
Trek
Grades 7th thru 12thTrek helps students grow through Scripture memorization, fun activities, and practical lessons that address topics like peer pressure, self-image, and following God’s Word.
Leaders in Training
Teen LeadershipLIT teenagers grow spiritually while learning to mentor younger children and serve in ministry through leadership opportunities and group involvement.

When does Awana meet?
Awana meets on Sundays from 5:00 – 6:30 PM.
Where does Awana meet?
Awana meets at First Baptist of Kingstowne, 7313 Hayfield Rd, Alexandria, VA 22315.
What does Awana Cost?
Awana is completely free to attend. If families feel led to support the ministry, donations to the church are always appreciated, but never required.
Are parents required to stay?
Parents are not required to stay during Awana. However, they are encouraged to participate in Awana or attend one of the other classes available during club meetings.
Can my child participate if we don't attend the church?
Yes! Your child is welcome to participate in Awana even if your family does not attend our church. We would also love to have you join us for any of our church services and activities.
Are volunteers background checked?
Yes. All Awana volunteers undergo background checks and complete annual safety and awareness training.
Is there a Check-In / Check-Out Process?
Yes. We use a check-in and check-out process for all children in our Awana program. Only authorized individuals are permitted to check out a child.
What if my child has allergies or special needs?
Our staff works diligently to consider the needs of every Awana participant. Please include any allergies or special needs in the special notes section during registration so we can best serve your child.
