March for Missions: Cory and April McTague

February 28, 2015 at 1:35 AM

This Sunday starts March for Missions, our annual celebration of missionaries and missions work. Our special guests this week are Cory and April McTague, missionaries to Nepal. Come join us and meet these wonderful people of God!

While a college freshman, Cory McTague picked up a book on the people of Tibet, a mountainous region on the border between China and India. He read about their great spiritual need, and wondered if God would ever call him to minister there. The thought stayed with him, and after graduating in 2006, he and his wife April announced their desire to take the gospel to the Tibetan people. They chose the country of Nepal, in the heart of the Himalayan mountains.

The couple arrived in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, in May 2009. They spent the next eighteen months with language school and an internship in a Kathmandu church. Then, in late 2010, they launched Himal Baptist Church, a ministry to the Tibetan people of Nepal. The mission work has seen many salvations and baptisms, and the McTagues are already training a Tibetan assistant pastor for the work.

Cory and April are currently in the US doing deputation work, with plans to head back to Nepal later this month. They also recently welcomed little Marcus McTeague into the world, who joins his big sister Savannah as part of the missionary family.
