March for Missions: Chuck Fernandez

March 06, 2015 at 1:38 AM

This week we continue our March for Missions celebration, with a focus on Chuck Fernandez, missionary to western Kenya and eastern Uganda. We will view a presentation of his ministry, and have a video teleconference session with him.

It’s been a roller-coaster ride for our friend Chuck Fernandez, since we checked in with him about a year ago. In Kenya, he has a number of building projects on-going or recently completed, including the sanctuary at Soysambu (which FBC Kingstowne supported financially). All told, thirteen sanctuary buildings have been constructed, with two more on the schedule for this year. Second-generation and even third-generation churches are being established, souls are being saved (over 1500 in 2014), and God is moving in the lives of people in western Kenya and eastern Uganda.

On a sadder note, Chuck’s wife Terry contracted malaria while in Kenya last fall, and it was nearly fatal. She is now recuperating in the states, and Chuck is splitting time between Kenya and Florida to be with her. Her long-term prognosis is good, although it is doubtful that she will be able to return to Kenya.

Please join us as we hear from this great man of God about the on-going work in Kenya.
