Featured Missionary: Stephen and Julie Knickerbocker

Burkina Faso is a small, land-locked country in western Africa, on the southwestern border of the Sahara desert. It’s also the new home of missionaries Stephen and Julie Knickerbocker. The young couple arrived in Burkina Faso just a couple of months ago, ready to proclaim the gospel message and plant churches.

Stephen, the son of a missionary church planter, grew up in France, and Julie grew up in French-speaking Quebec, Canada. They both are fluent in French, the official language of Burkina Faso (which was at one time a French colony).

The Knickerbockers are starting their ministry working with a veteran missionary in the suburbs of the capital city of Ouagadougou. They have a strong desire to see independent Baptist churches planted in this Muslim-dominated country, led by trained national pastors.
