Featured Missionary: LT Jordan Ferris

In recognition of today’s Military Appreciation Service, this week’s spotlight is on LT Jordan Ferris, a chaplain in the US Naval Reserve.

Jordan has been involved in ministry for 14 years, primarily as a youth/associate pastor. In 2011, he graduated from Liberty Baptist Seminary and completed his US Navy Chaplain Candidate Program. Since then, he has served as a chaplain in the US Navy Reserves, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Twenty-Eight (the “Old Pros” of the Seabees). This year, he and his unit spent eight months at Camp Phoenix, Afghanistan, as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. It was the first deployment for LT Ferris, but the last for his unit – NMCB 28 was decommissioned last month.

Jordan, his wife Amanda, and their son Daniel live near Little Rock, Arkansas. He is an avid outdoorsman, and in his spare time he blogs under the title “Redwood Ministries” (redwoodministries.wordpress.com).
