Eduardo Magaña, a native of Mexico City, has served as a missionary in Saltillo, Mexico, for many years. Saltillo is the capital and largest city of the northeastern Mexican state of Coahuila, about 240 miles south of Texas.

Under Brother Magana’s leadership, one church has already been established – Misión El Camino, in the neighborhood of Colonia Miravalle. From that home base, he is reaching out into other communities – Monte Sinai and Mirasierra in the northeast, Santa Elina in the southwest, and the newest, Monte de los Olivos. With that many mission points, there are several construction projects on-going or planned: in Monte Sinai, the building is nearly complete (only the doors remain); in Mirasierra and Santa Elina, they are searching for land to build on.

With the need in the Saltillo missions for land, building materials, and furnishings, the ABA National Women’s Auxiliary has selected Brother Magaña as its 2014 missions focus.
