Featured Missionary: Delmar and Cheryl Hume

July 01, 2014 at 8:41 AM

This week's featured missionary family is Delmar and Cheryl Hume of Parkview Missionary Baptist Church, Chouteau, Oklahoma.

In October 2008, church planter Caleb Wood and his wife Candace started Parkview Missionary Baptist Church in Chouteau, Oklahoma. The Wood family served at Parkview for four years before leaving to pastor Landmark MBC in Spokane, WA. With their departure, Delmar Hume took up the role of missionary pastor.

Brother Hume is a native Oklahoman, through and through – he was not only raised there, he was baptized, surrendered to the ministry, and attended seminary in the state. He then pastored four different churches in Oklahoma before Parkview.

Parkview has had continued steady growth through its existence, including over sixty in attendance at a recent Friend Day service. The congregation has targeted 2016 as its goal for organizing into a self-supporting church.
