Featured Missionary: Chuck and Susan Callahan

July 20, 2014 at 9:34 PM

This week's featured missionary family is Chuck and Susan Callahan of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Zama, Japan.

For twelve years, Chuck and Susan Callahan have served as missionaries in Japan. Their primary ministry has been to US military stationed in the country. For the past eight years, they have served at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Zama, a city outside Tokyo and home to the US Army base Camp Zama. The work there is going well (the church is preparing to move into a new building), and the Callahans are ready for their next place of ministry.

That next place will be the island of Okinawa. Famous as the site of a pivotal battle in World War II, Okinawa is located about 400 miles south of the rest of Japan. Just as in Zama, the focus of their ministry on Okinawa will be serving US military stationed there. The family will be moving to Okinawa in a few months, and the search is already on for a building to meet in.

Their sending church is Hillcrest Baptist Church of El Paso, Texas.
