We know it can be stressful visiting a church for the first time. At Kingstowne, you are our valued guest and we want you to be comfortable. To help you feel at home, we've assembled the answers to some commonly asked questions. If you have any more questions, please drop us a note or call the office. We look forward to meeting you!
It's up to you. For Sunday services, some people wear business or business casual attire, while others prefer jeans and casual dress. On Wednesdays, most are casual or wearing what they wore to work that day. We want you to be comfortable, and to feel welcomed no matter what you wear.
We have a fully-equipped nursery adjacent to the sanctuary, staffed by trained workers during all services. During Sunday School, Sunday evening and Wednesday night services, we have children's programs that run concurrent with adult activities. And on Sunday mornings during worship service, we conduct a Children's Church service as well.
The safety of your children is a primary concern for us. All children's program workers have met qualification requirements, undergone screening procedures, and follow safety guidelines. In addition, many have been trained in areas such as first aid and CPR.
Worship services usually consist of singing (both congregational and special music), along with prayer and scripture reading. These are important in preparing our hearts to receive the Word of God. The Pastor will bring a message that is Bible-based and relevant, drawing lessons from scripture that we can apply to our daily lives. Typically, services conclude with an invitation to come forward, for anyone desiring special prayer or counseling - however, this is optional, as we feel it is always important to not make anyone feel self-conscious or singled out. Services typically run 60-75 minutes.
We do collect an offering during our services, so that members have an opportunity to financially support the church's mission and operations. Guests are welcome to but not expected to give. We are interested in getting to know you, not taking your money.
We invite and welcome you to be part of our worship services, regardless of your denominational background. We are an independent church, and the "Baptist" in our name refers to our doctrinal beliefs, not a denominational affiliation. To learn more about our doctrinal position, click here.
No, you are welcome to attend our services without joining. We do feel that church membership is an important part of a person's Christian growth, and if the Lord leads you to join us at the proper time, we would be happy to consider you as a candidate for membership. For more information on the steps of Christian growth, click here or check with the Pastor.
The worship sanctuary is on the ground floor, and is fully accessible to those with mobility constraints. The lower floor is serviced by a chair lift, as well as a separate outside entrance.
