mis·sion noun \ˈmi-shən\ : a specific task with which a person or group is charged; calling, vocation
As a church, we have a mission. We have been called, we have been charged with a task. That calling was given to us by Jesus Christ, in what is often called the great commission:
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." (Matthew 28:19-20)
We embrace this mission enthusiastically and with purpose. As a church, we want to make a difference in the lives of the people around us - in Kingstowne and northern Virginia, and across the world. We are called to die to self, that through us, Christ might live. We are called to be an example, a help, a guide, a friend. Simply put:
We are called to help people find their place with God.
